Seelisberg – Alpweid

Have you ever dreamed of exploring the beautiful alp meadows? Lushes rich green slopes with protected alp flowers, such as alp roses, silver thistles, yellow and blue gentians and many more. Cows grazing on the steep slopes, cow bells ringing and bees humming?

There are many mountains in Switzerland. But I would like to take you to a place away from the tourist crowds. An unknown place, peaceful and still.

It will be fun and a little bit adventurous! Are you ready to go on a small cable car just for 4 people?

The day will start in Lucerne, with a short walk to the pier. There we will board an old paddle steamer taking us to Seelisberg-Treib. In Treib we will change to a funiculaire taking us up to Seelisberg village. After a gentle hike through Seelisberg and a nearby forest, for about 45 minutes, we will reach the cable car station. And there the adventurous part starts. Surprise surprise!

Once we reach Alpweid we will enjoy lunch at a farmhouse, hopefully outside on the terrace with a stunning view of the Swiss alps.

After lunch we can hike down to Seelisberg (2 hours) or ride back on the cable car. To get back to Lucerne we will take a bus.
